In your personal opinion...What do you understand it takes for a person to go to heaven?

Consider how the Bible answers this question. It is a matter of FAITH.

F is for FORGIVENESS

We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness.

"In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" (Ephesians 1:7 - KJV).

A is for AVAILABLE

Forgiveness is available. It is--

• Available for All.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16 - KJV).

• But not Automatic.

"Not every one that saith into me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21 - KJV).

I is for IMPOSSIBLE

It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven.

• Because of who He is: God is loving and just. He judges against sin.

"For He shall have judgment without mercy," (James 2:13 - KJV)

• Because of who we are: Every person is a sinner.

"For all have sinned, and come [fall] short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23 - KJV).

But how can a sinful person enter heaven, when God allows no sin?

T is for TURN

Turn means repent.

• Turn from something--sin and self.

"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3 - KJV).

• Turn to Someone; trust Christ only.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9 - KJV).

H is for HEAVEN

Heaven is eternal life.

• Here ...[Jesus said:] "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10 - KJV).

• Hereafter...[Jesus said:] "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:3 - KJV).

• How?...How can a person have God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Savior and Lord? By trusting in Christ, calling on Him in faith, and asking Him for forgiveness. Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH: Forsaking All I Trust Him. Call on Him in faith; Then tell someone about the important decision you have made. Grow in your faith and enjoy new friends in Christ by becoming part of His church and attending the Sunday School class a Bible-believing church has just for you. God wants your Bible study to succeed. I can't imagine anyone thinking that the Lord would send His Son to die for the world's sins, offer salvation and forgiveness to anyone who trusts in Him, and establish the church on earth to ensure failure.
